Badia a Coltibuono

Respect for biodiversity, for the health of the workers and for the environment are the cornerstones from which Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico is born. In the heart of the Sienese part of Chianti Classico, from our vineyards in Monti (Gaiole) and Vitignano (Castelnuovo Berardenga) we harvest Sangiovese grapes from our massale selection with small quantities of complementary grapes.

The Badia a Coltibuono Riserva, our most classic wine, is made exclusively from autoctonous grapes. It is loved by wine aficionados worldwide and is considered to be a true emblem of the Chianti territory.

Extremely rare, as only small quantities are produced, this is a typical, traditional Tuscan dessert wine. Enhanced by the creation of the DOC Vinsanto del Chianti Classico, today Badia a Coltibuono’s Vinsanto is one of the best raisin wines in the world.

Cultus Chianti Classico Riserva d.o.c.g. Organic wine. The full potential of the Sangiovese grape finds new expression in a wine inspired by the great traditions of its place of origin. ‘Cultus’ brings together the quality of the Sangiovese grape, its dominant component, with the expressiveness other traditional complementary varieties.

Vin Santo del Chianti Classico “Occhio di Pernice” Made with carefully chosen Sangioveto grapes fermented and matured in sealed oak barrels. It is named “Partridge eye” because of it’s garnet colour with an amber edge.

‘San Zoveto’ which later became ‘Sangioveto’, was the name commonly used in the past in Chianti for the Sangiovese varietal. Organic Wine

The limestone clay soil in the Monti in Chianti area and the perfect position of the vineyards are the essential factors that provide depth and elegance to Montebello Toscana igt wine. For some time the company has been engaged in the study and recovery of the ancient varieties typical of these areas through the cultivation of historic vines: Mammolo , Ciliegiolo , Pugnitello, Colorino, Sanforte, MalvasiaNera, Canaiolo and FogliaTonda. Indigenous yeasts and natural fermentation allow a harmonious blend of the varieties.
