Winemaking

Gran Selezione is the last ambitious project of Belvedere Campoli estate. After a very narrow selection in the vineyard, and a long maceration on the skins, the Sangiovese destined for the Gran Selezione is vinified and aged in oak barrels for at least 30 months. Subsequently it terminates his maturation in the bottle, for other six months.

The name of the wine comes from the ancient Tabernacle found by the owner in the Belvedere vineyards, restored by the Guicciardini Family and frescoed with the famous painting by Raffaello Sanzio “La Madonna della Seggiola”. Produced in only 2,000 bottles, the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione “Il Tabernacolo” is a wine that combine structure and elegance, thanks to an aromatic component of great value and intensity, with notes of ripe fruit and spices, and a rich sip, with an important tannic texture and a particularly silky and harmonious grain.
