Growing Conditions

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto San Marcellino is a wine produced exclusively in great vintages, using the finest grapes selected from the vineyard of the same name that surrounds the Pieve di San Marcellino in Monti in Chianti.

This vineyard covers an area of approximately 7 hectares and is characterized by the predominant presence of Sangiovese, of which 1.5 hectares are 50 years old. Alongside Sangiovese, Pugnitello (0.9 hectares), an ancient Tuscan grape variety, is cultivated in a complementary manner, enhancing its color, structure, and aroma.

Bottling

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto San Marcellino is bottled without undergoing filtration processes in order to preserve its maximum elegance and finesse.

Starting from 2006, Pugnitello has been incorporated into the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto San Marcellino cuvée with a minimum percentage of 5%.
