A brief history
Vignamaggio is one of the oldest farm in Tuscany, growing grapes and making wine for over 600 years. Half way between Florence and Siena, the estate extends over more 400 hectares in the municipal district of Greve in Chianti. Symbol of Vignamaggio is its beautiful renaissance villa which overlooks a magnificent amphitheatre that is the upper valley of the Greve River. 70 hectares of organically farmed vineyards make up the heart of the estate. Sangiovese is the main varietal and the production of the Chianti Classico is the most characteristic and authentic expression its identity.
